McDonald’s Malaysia presents Corporate Zakat to Zakat Melaka – Majlis Agama Islam Melaka (MAIM)

So yours truly was over at Kompleks Anak Yatim Fatimah Al-Zaharah in Bukit Katil, Melaka where we witnessed McDonald’s Malaysia presenting their corporate zakat amounting to RM180,000 to Zakat Melaka – Majlis Agama Islam Melaka (MAIM), recently on 17 May 2022.

McDonald’s Malaysia also held a small Hari Raya celebration and gave away duit raya to the orphans living at the Kompleks Anak Yatim Fatimah Al-Zaharah.

As a fully Muslim-owned company, McDonald’s Malaysia is committed in fulfilling its responsibilities to contribute their annual corporate zakat. McDonald’s Malaysia is also an organisation that greatly cares about the underprivileged and orphanage communities.

This corporate zakat payment for 2022,which totals to RM180,000 is the highest amount paid to Zakat Melaka since McDonald’s Malaysia started contributing their corporate  zakat. The funds will be channeled back to the  underprivileged and needy communities in Melaka.

The presentation of corporate zakat to Zakat Melaka - MAIM is the sixth state in which McDonald’s Malaysia has contributed its corporate zakat for the year 2022. As of 2022, McDonald’s Malaysia has contributed a total of RM9.85 million in corporate zakat, since the organisation started contributing their corporate zakat back in 2017.

This corporate zakat presentation ceremony was attended by YBhg. Datuk Haji Ibrahim bin Haji Fadzil, Chief Executive Officer, Zakat Melaka, Pn. Shakina binti Mohd Said, Head of Zakat, Majlis Agama Islam Melaka, Pn. Arina Saffura binti Alim, Head of Human Development, Majlis Agama Islam Melaka, and En. Azhar Darbi, Vice President of Human Resources and Chairman of the Internal Halal Committee, McDonald’s Malaysia.
