Food review 2019 - SpAxxks Restaurant and Bar, Bangsar

Everyone in Kuala Lumpur knows Bangsar is one of the upscale housing areas in Kuala Lumpur where mostly expatriates or upper class or maybe the upper-middle class people reside...

Walking along the main streets of Bangsar Baru, you will definitely be spoilt for choice while finding yourself surrounded by plenty of attractive cafés and high-end restaurants that make the lower middle class and lower income people look  on wistfully...

So, I was over at SpAxxks Restaurant and Bar with a few of my besties...

We were on a mission to try out their dishes and we had a whale of a time enjoying each other's company while indulging in the amazingly superb food SpAxxks had to offer...

We began our culinary adventure there with some of SpAxxks signature sharing platters which were the Cheesy Nachos and Mutton Masala...

SpAxxks Cheesy Nachos are tortilla chips  served with zesty salsa sauce and topped with spicy homemade lamb Bolognese sauce which are just so super yummy...  And oh did I mention, the portion is very generous....

The Mutton Masala consist of soft tender chunks of mutton meat in Indian style spiced Masala gravy.... The meat has been slow cooked and the result is soft, succulent tenderness that practically melts in your mouth but served on crunchy buttered toasted baguettes ...

I could not get enough of their Cream of Mushroom soup which was just perfect with enough chunky mushroom bits inside... It was definitely one of the most perfect mushroom soup I have had in a while...

My friends oohed and ahhed when the lamb shank was brought out... This large, tender chunk of braised lamb shank came served with mixed salad, mashed potatoes and supposedly red wine gravy. However since my friends and I were Muslims, we asked that they withhold the wine... But it was still delicious as all the dishes were cooked to perfection... 

The next dish that appeared on our table was the Grain Fed Rib Eye... An Australian prime rib eye grilled to request and served with mixed vegetables, mashed potato and red wine gravy.. (Upon request we can ask the chef to substitute the alcohol with some. Other gravy or stock..., which I did)

I loved the Grilled Salmon Steak, the salmon fillet was beautifully seasoned with garlic butter lemon mix, served with mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes and lemon herb butter sauce and perfectly melt in your mouth delicious... 

The SpAxxks Grilled Chicken was my best friend's favorite as he was a chicken person.... The grilled chicken breast is marinated in homemade bell pepper sauce topped with mushroom gravy sauce and served with sautéed mushroom and mixed vegetables... Lovely!!!!

Another dish I found hard to resist and couldn't resist swiping from my buddies was the Seafood Pasta... Basically it is just spaghetti with large prawns, muscles, clams and squid and sprinkled with parsley... But the gravy made it just so delicious I can't seem to put it down... 

For non-Muslims who drink, indulge yourself in your favorite beer, SpAxxks carries an amazing selection from Carlsberg, Connor’s, Asahi, Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc, Brooklyn Lager, Little Creatures, Stella Artois, Corona, Budweiser and Somersby Cider... 

Or if you are the one who prefer wine, there is a generous selection of Australian and Chilean wines as well....

If you are more of a cocktail person, be sure to check out their specialities.. Long Island Iced Tea, Classic Margarita, Sliding Vanilla Shake and Giddy Passion....
