UPPER LABEL’S CSR UPGRADE IMPROVES

Sometimes you really wish you could afford something nice but you can't quite afford it... Until someone decides to surprise you with it...

This is what I am sure what some 1200 residents of the Taman Segar Flats are feeling at the moment since a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was recently signed between Tony Chin Hon Fah, Director of Upper Label Sdn Bhd with the Joint Management Corporation (JMC) representatives of Taman Segar Flats....

These 1200 residents who now owns a 500-sq ft walk-up flat, will be receiving a brand new 900-sq ft apartment of much better quality with condominium facilities such as lifts, swimming pool and gym at zero cost! How cool is that!!!

This corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative was officiated by Yang Berhormat Tuan Haji Khalid Abdul Samad, Minister of Federal Territories..

Also present were YBhg. Datuk Hajah Rosida binti Jaafar, Deputy Secretary General (Management & Socio Economic) and YBhg. Datuk Muhammad Azmi bin Mohd Zain, Under Secretary (Socio Economic Division), Ministry of Federal Territories also graced the event.

This above mentioned project will be implemented within the next three years...

Segar Residences will be an affordable housing project as units are pegged at RM300,000. Each 900sf ft unit is built with beautiful views of Kuala Lumpur City, full facilities including an infinity pool, all enveloped in a low-density project that is built on prime land in Cheras. Easily accessible via various major highways and byways, this project is walking distance to the Mutiara MRT as well as to Leisure Mall...

“We are from the low-cost flats with 2 rooms per unit. These walk-up flats are almost 40 years old and using the stairs is not easy for our senior residents. This upgrade to a brand new, mid-cost apartment of 900sq ft and 3 rooms, with lift and recreational facilities is like a dream come true as this will change our living conditions completely. This CSR proposal from Upper Label Sdn Bhd has received enthusiastic support by the many families that were finding it hard living at the low-cost flats. We thank Upper Label for thinking of our betterment and will work closely with them,” said Mr Ngeau Koi Chai, Chairman of Taman Segar Management Corporation.

The project is built on Persiaran Lemak and residents will drive along it to get to other locations such as Leisure Mall which only a 15-minute drive away. There are several schools in the area such as SK Taman Segar, University College Sedaya International (UCSI), SRK Kampung Cheras Baru and SRJK (C) Taman Connaught that are a short drive from the project site.

Other nearby amenities include Leisure Mall Cheras, EkoCheras Mall, Neway Karaoke Box, banks and an abundance of restaurants. The whole project is a 4.456-acre development of medium-cost apartments within, with built-up of 900sq ft at an average price of RM300,000 (RM333 psf).

This CSR is in line with the government’s promise to deliver one million units of affordable houses within 10-years, in its manifesto. With over 20 years of industry excellence and successful project launches that include Residensi Pandanmas 2, a RUMAWIP project that was delivered 10 months ahead of schedule; Upper Label Sdn Bhd and Sri Binaraya Sdn Bhd are yet on the mission to change the lives of 1200 residents at Taman Segar, Cheras.

Among the other successful projects under Sri Binaraya Sdn Bhd include Holmes 2, a four-block condominium consisting 1814 units at Bandar Tun Razak; East Parc @ Menjalara, which are serviced apartments at Bandar Menjalara; Inspirasi Mont Kiara, two blocks of 44-storey serviced apartments at Mont Kiara; as well as The Clio 2 Residences which is three blocks of serviced apartments consisting of 550 units at Dengkil, Putrajaya amongst others.

  1. I wonder how we get our 40 year old low cost walk up flat going to also accomplish the redevelopment programme?
