Movie Review 2019 - Shazam

After an argument with his older brother and father, young Thaddeus Sivana was transported to the Rock of Eternity by the wizard Shazam, but then the wizard deemed him unpure of heart and not worthy of being his successor, and so he was abruptly sent back to reality.... 

Realised that he was declined of the power he wanted... he somehow created a scene that caused his father's car to collide and his father was badly hurt...

Fast forward to the present, Billy Batson is caught after tricking police officers in a bid to look for his missing mother whom he lost as a child.... 

He is then forced into yet another adopted family which he did not quite want... the Vasquez's and got to know Freddie, a paraplegic, who he had to share a room with... 

Thaddeus, who is now an adult, is obsessed with trying to find a way to get back to the Rock of Eternity by deligently tracking down and collecting clues from all the rejected candidates by Shazam... 

He finally manages to solve the clues and goes back to the Rock of Eternity to meet Shazam, but because Shazam refuse to give up his power, he freed the 7 Deadly Sins byballowing them to use his body, which grants him powers....

After saving Freddie from a group of bullies, Billy somehow gets transported to the Rock of Eternity and meets Shazam...

Running out of time and getting weaker, Shazam decided Billy will inherit his powers... and after Billy says the word 'Shazam' , Billy is transformed into an adult superhero with multiple superpowers....

With Freddie's help, he uncovers his superpowers one by one, all the while being taped by Freddie which soon goes viral online... ..

While attacking his own father and brother with the power he has, one of the 7 deadly sins told Thaddeus that he needed to get rid of the new Shazam... 

...and Thaddeus being greedy and jealous of Billy's power, starts tracking Billy but fails to get Billy's power despite defeating him...

Billy's adopted siblings realize that he is Shazam and out of love, they also managed to locate Billy's real mother, who later confessed that she abandoned him because she was too young to care for him...

Thaddeus learns who Billy is and kidnaps his siblings to threaten Billy...

So... what will Billy do...

I think it is a fun movie... with a pretty straight forward plot... 

The kid gets superpowers, the bad guy wants those superpowers. They fight and the good guy wins... do check out the surprises in the movie though.. there are some and they are pretty cool... hahaha

It is funny and entertaining movie to watch with your friends or family. And yes, do not forget the two post-credit scenes.
