FONTERRA DISTRIBUTE IFTAR PACKS LOADED WITH DAIRY GOODNESS

For World Milk Day this year which coincides with the Holy month of Ramadan, Fonterra Brands Malaysia decided to share the goodness of dairy with those who were fasting at Kampung Kerinchi

Mr Jose Miguel Porraz Lando, Managing Director of Fonterra Brands Malaysia and Singapore says that the company prides itself for bringing the best of New Zealand to Malaysia . Mr Porraz Lando and Puan Manisya Ismail, Cooperative Affairs Manager and Chairman of the Halal Committee at Fonterra Brands Malaysia were both clad in matching blue outfits to hand out bubur lambuk, a traditional milky porridge which was enriched with Fernleaf Milk, and Iftar Packs – consisting of a meal, Fernleaf CalciYum cultured milk drink, Fernleaf Family milk powder and Anlene Concentrate-  at the Masjid Al-Ikhlasiah after the Asar prayers recently…

Mr Porraz Lando said that he and his company feel privileged to be able to have the opportunity to celebrate the blessed month of Ramadan and World Milk Day with the Kampung Kerinchi community…

One of the main reasons would also be to educate the folks on the nutritional value of dairy and that during Ramadan, it is vital that the people have the right nutritional in-take to support their fasting, the healthy way….

Milk is after all one of the most nutritionally complete foods available and contains essential nutrients including protein, calcium, potassium, vitamins D and B which can support the nutrients lost during the long hours of fasting…

Dairy contains natural sugars and its low glycemic index/GI mean the slow and steady release of glucose into the bloodstream will provide long-lasting energy and help curb hunger pangs throughout the day. It is an ideal way to hydrate and replenish fluids lost during the day as well….

FYI, World Milk Day is an initiative by the Food and Agricultural Organization /FAO, a United Nations body celebrated worldwide and recognised as a source of nutrition for millions around the world…
