Hydrate to Run Further....

Over the weekend, I woke up early and with my youngest daughter in tow, we headed to the Kepong Metropolitan Park, where Lucozade Sport was hosting a 'Run and Hydrate with Edan Syah' clinic...

Now Lucozade is the No 1 isotonic drink in United Kingdom and it is definitely my choice as well as I do not quite like gassy drinks which most of the isotonic drinks are....and Lucozade was formulated based on scientific evidence and well, it is endorsed by sportsmen and global sports associations all around the world.. it is also yummy and beneficial for my body when it is feeling dehydrated...

On the other hand is Edan Syah, a good looking Malay guy with an easy going personality who happens to also be Malaysia's Fastest Marathoner in 2016, and the SEA Games 2017 Marathon Qualifier.

He is also a running coach and was selected to lead the Run and Hydrate clinic , imparting his training guidelines and proven methods based on his own experience to the other runners...

Edan Syah's sharing session included various aspects for different levels of runners, from fun runners like yours truly here, who is curious and interested to advance to longer distance with strategies to combat fatigue and more...

Runners were given a warm up session and advised to plan their runs and not skip their hydration intervals as the key laid in knowing the routes and positions of the water stations along their running route.. We must all take distance and climate into consideration...

Hydration is vital in everyday life and especially even more during strenuous activities where dehydration can actually have a negative impact on our performance...This would be because our body loses fluids and vital electrolytes through sweat and burn carbohydrates as fuel to supply energy for our body when we run... therefore it is ideal to hydrate with Lucozade Sport to replenish our body fluids and electrolytes to improve our running performance....

Everyone was all ears and were soon off on the run around the lake garden at their own paces....

It was definitely a very enlightening event and even I learn a few tips and tricks to be applied on my fun runs and fun walks.... thanks to Lucozade Sports and the very affable Edan Syah...

  1. I'm interested to find this drink if it's not gassy. Agree that most isotonic drinks are gassy, sometimes I feel very self conscious when I know I'm going to be around people. But it's our body system mah.. haha.
