Yours truly was at the Sunway Putra Mall recently to see the
collaboration between the mall and Touching Lives Club Kuala Lumpur and
Selangor bringing 150 underprivileged children aged between 8 and 18 for a fun
filled day out at the mall…
The beautiful concourse are was inspired by the ancient charm of a grand Shanghai Town... and with this Sunway Putra Mall looks forward welcoming The Splendour of Spring for this Chinese New Year with all their shoppers and visitors.....
The kids outing began with a movie sponsored by TGV Cinemas
before being ushered to the main concourse area to await the celebration which
was on a pretty grand scale…
How could it not be when it involved a magnificent parade of
a dragon and auspicious lion dancers making their way down from the top floor
of the mall to the pounding of drums and crashing of gongs and cymbals…
The event was officiated by Sunway Putra Mall’s General
Manager, Ms Phang Sau Lian accompanied by Touching Lives Club Kuala Lumpur and
Selangor founder , Mr Raymond Chin…
There were two God of Prosperities who accompanied the VIPs
as they gave out goodie bags and ang pows to the children….
The event was far from over as the kids and all present were
made to participate in a chicken dance, a chinese new year dance along with
some cosplayers who definitely drew the kids attention and interest….
It definitely was a whole load of heart pounding fun watching
the 4 season drummers do their mesmerizing routine…
The Touching Lives Club KL and Selangor also prepared
interesting performances such as the water drum performance by Persatuan
Kebajikan dan Sosial Kim Loo Ting...
It was as fascinating watching the Face Changing performance and a magic show kept the kids cheering...…
This would be Sunway Putra Mall’s second year of hosting
Chinese New Year cheers for the Happy Kids…
the event is made all the more merrier with sponsors from McDonalds,
Subway and JG Chicken

The decorations look fab! Would love to go on a 'mall hunt' to take pix of all the decos :) It's great that Sunway gives back to the community, that's what festivals are all about isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy watching Chinese performances because they are so colorful and their musics are my stress therapy :) Glad your kids enjoy it most :)
