Whenever I am in USJ Subang, I will drop by at Main Place, the neighbourhood mall..they do have some of the cutest decorations during festive seasons and even when there is no festive seasons, I cannot resist checking out the cute mascot, Manny, the black cat...
But this little trip to the Main Place mall was not to see Manny but rather check out the many golden eggs and also the adorable rooster at the mall's concourse area...the
decoration and theme 'The Joy of Reunion' at this up and coming neighbourhood mall in USJ has an exclusive line-up of fun events to usher in the year of the rooster with much fanfare and excitement....
Shoppers have a chance to win exciting goodie bags as well as shopping vouchers by participating in the 'Count the Golden Eggs' activity, one of the highlights of this year's programme.. all you have to do is check out the eggs all at the concourse area and count all those lucky golden eggs around the concourse area.... this game was chosen because well, golden eggs in Chinese culture symbolizes luck, attraction and fertility.
I was there for a mini 'reunion' luncheon at the Sushi Zanmai on the 2nd floor of the mall with other blogger friends and the management team of both Main Place USJ and also Sushi Zanmai...
....and we did have a feast.... starting with the symbolic tossing of the Prosperity Yee Sang -RM19.80-RM36.80.....
Then we were treated to a feast from the Mentaiko Spider Roll RM20.80 , a soft shelled crab sushi roll topped with avocado and cod roe mayonaise...
Salmon sashimi RM9.80-RM19.80....
The Ebi Mentaiyaki RM17.80 , which was prawns grilled with cod roe were lip smacking good.....
I also enjoyed the Chicken Gyoza RM13.80 , a pan seared chicken and vegetable dumpling was also delicious and nicely done.....
The Hanasaki Ika Tempura RM11.80 was also yummy I could not stop popping it into my mouth..
We got to try the Kimuchi Seafood Nabe RM22.80, an assorted seafood hotpot with kimuchi soup and some Kaisen Nabe RM26.80, a vegetable based hotpot with soy sauce soup that came with beef slices , the Kaisen Nabe soup was a bit too sweet for my taste... - it is not that sweet actually, but then I am not used to sweet soups and prefer savoury soups - so I liked the Kimuchi Seafood Nabe soup much better...
I definitely could not resist the chocolate Ice Cream Wafer RM8.00 which was just so yummy... and reminds me a lot of kinder bueno chocolate....
So we ended our lovely reunion luncheon there fully sated and happy......
Anyway, there is so much more activities presented by Main Place especially during the weekends with sounds of thunderous drums rolling and acrobatic performances that bring to life Chinese New Year vibes..
There are also dough doll making workshops and mask painting to let shoppers and visitors experience new things.... get your kids to participate as they will learn something about traditional Chinese culture while having fun with their creativity.....
For those who are deft and good at their chopstick skills, make sure you take part in the 'Chopstick and Beans' game and test your capabilities in holding the beans using your chopsticks... the winner walks away with attractive prizes.....
Shoppers can also redeem these gorgeous CNY angpows (8 pcs) with every purchase of RM200 & above in a maximum of 2 combined receipts on the same day from any Main Place outlet.
*Limited to 100 packs daily. Maximum 5 packs per redemption per customer.
