Sarapan is breakfast in the Malay language... it is basically the most important meal of the day, though not all Malaysians think of it as such... I
try never to skip breakfast even if I am on a diet, or on the go as I know very well the
importance of having a good start and deriving the energy from breakfast to
last throughout the day (I would normally skip dinner if I want to skip a meal,
after all it is recommended that we should not eat too much a few hours before
we sleep)… and well, nothing is better to kick-start your day than a nice little
packet of milk which I learned is the elixir our bodies need at breakfast.
The Sarapan Dutch Lady 7 day challenge was indeed a good initiative and it reminded me how to drink my milk on a daily basis...
On a regular day, I have to admit my breakfast can be pretty simple at times, and
elaborate at other times, and sometimes it can also be pretty unhealthy with rich nasi
lemak and such but I try to keep fatty food to a minimum, at once a week as I
am getting older, my metabolic rate is much slower then before, it is also easier to grow sideways and with all the health scares, I need to watch my food intake as well…
Did you know that after eight hours or so from your last
meal, a glass of milk is the ideal nourishment our body needs to regulate
itself. I did not know that... and I did often drink milk, but not on a daily basis... I would normally drink it once every two or three days or at least twice a week...but now with this challenge, I realise I should up my calcium intake and drink it on a daily basis, and of course, get my kids to do the same.. My hubby on the other hand hates milk and anything other pale looking food.. so I have to hide the milk in a plate of mixed omelette, scrambled eggs or cook it in the curry or a healthier version of nasi lemak... hehehe... shhhh
Malaysians are quite well known for not getting sufficient
calcium from their daily food intake, as many of us, face it, like to eat
unhealthy food, fast food or mamak food for breakfast… and this causes almost
one in every two kids who suffer from inadequate calcium intake. Not having
enough calcium in our body means our bones easily turn brittle.
Do you know we need two servings of milk a day to meet our
body’s daily nutritional requirements. So having a serving at breakfast will
load 200mg of calcium into our body. Milk helps our kids develop strong bones
and teeth and of course it keeps our adult bone mass be healthy, even when/
especially we get all white haired, and wrinkly (so you see it is important to
have your daily milk intake, yaaa)....
Dutch Lady PureFarm milk is known to be rich with essential
nutrients – some of which our bodies cannot generate on its own, such as
protein, which plays one of the lead roles in our growth and development, such
as the building of bones, muscles, and tissue.
Do you know, Dutch Lady PureFarm
milk, not only contains a good source of Calcium but it contains Vitamin A which
is something everyone needs a lot for healthy eye function, and Vitamin B2 which
supports cellular functions that transform food to energy, and Vitamin D3 aids
absorption of calcium and phosphorus.
Personally, I love packaged milk a lot, and I choose it over
powdered milk… and I have been drinking Dutch Lady milk long since before it
was renamed Dutch Lady from Dutch Baby… heheh…Yes, I have been a huge fan of the brand since I
was a kid and now as a mom, naturally I trust Dutch Lady to keep my family
healthy as well…
So you can trust Dutch Lady PureFarm milk for your family’s
nutritional intake, which you can find practically anywhere in any supermarket
or even certain grocery or convenience stores…

This reminds me of when I was younger and there use to be a program susu sekolah. I for some reason never had the chance to subscribe to it, probably cause my parents didn't think I needed it. Good source of calcium and great for growing kids. Make sure your kids drink the Mierah! :)
