honor 8: exquisite beauty with ultimate power

Yours truly has always been curious at new gadgets and when she got a chance to attend the honor 8 launch at Connexion@Nexus in Bangsar South, she was delighted…

While waiting for the launch, fans of honor smartphones and members of the media were all given four task to do… a Hide and Seek picture where we had to go hunt out the Pikachu and Venusaur figurine in the gorgeous garden there and take a picture of it, a selfie or is it a wefie with 8 people in the picture, a picture with the props and a picture on how we played with light reflections…..

Then there was a mesmerizing performance with fans and a ballerina.....supposedly as versatile as the honor 8 smartphone...

Anyway the honor 8 is kinda honor’s most premium smartphone yet. As far as I know it, previous honor smartphones were quite  well known for offering top specs at a very affordable price….

But for honor 8, it is no longer a cheap alternative but a smartphone with great specs in a very sophisticated and elegant design  . You will be somewhat mesmerized by the way light reflects against its 2.5D glass…

The smartphone’s exterior is made from what is called Aurora glass and a very classy metal frame. honor 8 comes with 5.2 inch 2.5D glass display, powered by Kirin 950 Octa-core processor and equipped with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage (microSD expandable up to 128GB).

honor 8 uses a Dual 12MP with Sony IMX286 support for rear shooter to capture crystal clear images, that brings to mind the new Huawei P9, but yet different in its own way...The front facing camera is a 8MP with unique software “Perfect Selfie” mode and innovative Low Light Portrait mode for great selfies.

honor 8 features a 3D fingerprint scanner at the back panel of the device. The 3D fingerprint scanner is not just for instant access to the phone function but which can use be used as a smart key to customized favourite apps and functions . It is packed with a 3,000 mAh battery that supports fast charging that can afford you 47% juice in just 30 minutes.

honor 8 will operate with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and  is retailed at RM 1,699 for 32GB white and black colours variants, and RM 1,899 for 64GB sapphire blue and gold colours variants….

Brooklyn Beckham, the son of David Beckham and Posh Spice (Spice Girls) Victoria Beckham has been selected as one of their global ambassador for the brand

I have to say what I like best would probably be that honor Malaysia is also actually offering honor 8 buyers a 12-months warranty (swap one to one in the event of any problem) along with a 3-month warranty for phone crack either front or back of the device. Cool right… a real peace of mind, in my humble opinion….

  2. The Huawei brand is making a lot of noise lately. Havent tried the brand but from the readings Ive done, it seems like a nice phone alternative or even your main phone. I like its sleek and chic feature. I also prefer a phone with a wider screen especially if I use it for my reading.

  3. Beyond the marketing blah blah on how light is reflected, the phone packs a punch. Octa-core, 4gb ram, it should be able to handle apps better. Compared to iOS, Android phones need lots of RAM for its apps to work efficiently especially when multiple apps are opened. The dual 12mp rear cameras are enticing.

Now where I am having trouble with is the price. Is it possible to include estimated price in USD since the audience of your blog includes people from other countries?

  7. It's my first time ever hearing about this phone brand. Is it fully manufactured in Malaysia? How much is it in USD? I've been using iPhone for a long time now so I'm not really familiar with Android specifications and phone specifications. How does it fare with an iPhone? - Me-An Clemente of http://yogoandcream.com

  8. Huawei has been bringing models to go with the top brands for phone. Never tried it but I guess it can fight fairly with the top brands, given its features. Honor 8 is something to check and to consider for new set up on phone usage.
