Sungei Wang Plaza Lantern Festival

I wonder if anyone remembers during olden days, people would take the time to go and watch shows on stage and appreciate the colourful lanterns displayed everywhere during the Mid-Autumn Festival.  It would be such a gay and colourful event...

Anyway, Sungei Wang Plaza took this opportunity to  transform their centre stage into a beautiful Chinese garden and a Giant Wishing Lantern signifying the core of Lantern Festival beautifully hung in the middle of their atrium for this year's Lantern Festival. 

You can also see bright colourful lanterns hung all along Sungei Wang Walk together with the lit ancient Chinese opera characters lanterns. 

Be sure to check out the abolutely cute lit ancient Chinese opera characters lanterns which are installed along Sungei Wang Walk and also Concourse Level and they are oh so cute!!

 A brief description of the characters are displayed so public can find out more about these characters. These characters are jointly brought to you by Sungei Wang Plaza and Magnum 4D.

“A continuation of our Mid-Autumn celebration that started last year, we will again host the lantern parade around Bukit Bintang area on 11 September 2016. This year our Mid-Autumn celebrations in Sungei Wang Plaza has crossed boundaries as we will be joined by international singers from Taiwan, Eve Ai 艾怡良and Dennis Sun 孙自佑making an appearance here during our 3 days lantern carnival and also joining us in our parade as well. Not only that, we will be hosting the final roadshow for the first AIM Chinese Music Awards 2016 in Malaysia” Yuen May Chee, Complex Manager of Sungei Wang Plaza said at the Light Up Ceremony recently on 19 August 2016

The ceremony was officiated by Mr James Tan, Chairman of Sungei Wang Plaza Management Corporation, Ms Yuen May Chee, Complex Manager of Sungei Wang Plaza, Datuk Chan Chee Fai and Chief Commercial Officer of Magnum 4D Berhad by hitting the drums and lighting up the festive lanterns and ancient Chinese opera character lanterns. 

The ceremony is attended by representative from Magnum 4D, Mega Ultimate and other official partners together with members of the media and invited guests.

Sungei Wang Plaza Lantern Parade

Coming into its second edition this year, Sungei Wang Plaza Lantern Parade that will be happening on 11 September 2016 featuring Eve Ai艾怡良, Dennis Sun 孙自佑from Taiwan and Juztin刘界辉from Malaysia. Not only that, the parade will be hyped up with presence from the popular and energetic radio announcers from One FM. Nicholas翁书尉, Angeline黄玉丽, William辛伟廉, Yin盈盈, Kyan林志遵, Hana心怡 and Brandon赵正颖will all be joining us for the parade and having a meet and greet session with their loyal listeners.

 Their fans will get a chance to play games with their favourite DJ and interact with them up close and personally. To spread more of the festival cheer, 500 lanterns sponsored by MR. D.I.Y. will be given away before and during the parade. Also, 50 lucky shoppers will have the opportunity to walk away with free hotel stays at Resort World Genting.

The Sungei Wang Plaza Lantern Parade will be accompanied by Lion and Dragon Dance Performances circulating Bukit Bintang area throughout the entire parade. Public as well as domestic and international tourists are welcomed to join in the parade to experience the only Lantern Parade held at Bukit Bintang.

Sungei Wang Plaza Lantern Carnival

Sungei Wang Plaza will be hosting a 3 days lantern carnival all around the mall from 10 to 12 September 2016. The carnival will start off with the first AIM Chinese Music Awards 2016 Roadshow at 7pm, 10 September 2016 that will be graced with the appearance of 5 nominated artistes that is Danny许佳麟, Elaine李宜玲, Hank叶俊亨, Nicole赖淞凤 and Juwei. They will be here to share their joy and also their expectation on winning the awards.
