So yours truly was over at DA MEN Mall a few days ago on a Media Food Trail..The event began with members of the media registering at dal.komm HAUS there . This was sheer irony as I remember my unsuccessful plan to visit a dal.komm outlet in Seoul but sadly did not come across one in the 5 days I was there and I have only been to two dal.komm outlets so far and they are here in Klang Valley....
dal.komm Coffee is a Premium Cafe from South Korea (made even more popular for being one of the favorite hang outs in the movie Descendants of the Sun) whic seves only the world's best medium - dark roasted coffee and premium desserts using exclusive selected ingredients.
You can even find the two soft toys in the DOTS drama here... and well, Joseph, the Managing Director of dal.komm HAUS here says that these bunny and squirrel soft toys will actually be given away to some lucky person end of the month.. so try your hand at winning them by taking some pictures with these adorable soft toys....while indulging in some great drinks, or desserts ....
I had a nice Strawberry Kiwi juice here (RM14.90) while waiting for other members of the media to arrive....since I thought it would be a refreshing change from the ice blended or iced mocha latte I favour....
Some of the treats on menu at the dal.komm HAUS....
.. and yes, there are scrumptious and pretty looking cakes and pies as well, in the display shelf......
The event continued with a welcome note by Ms Kung Suan Ai, the Asset Manager Marketing of Pavilion REIT Management... and so yes, in case you are wondering, DA MEN and also the Intermark in KL has been bought and taken over by Pavilion REIT Management...
Our food trail began at the Lower Ground Floor.. If you have not been to DA MEN before, you will see plenty of food pop up stalls all around the Lower Ground Floor...they are assorted, colourful and so tempting....
We were questioned as to what we wanted to try and since many of the members of the media decided to go Korean.... hahaha, we were then ushered into B.bap's seating area...
B.bap Korean Food serves quite a wide range of wholesome and popular Korean dishes which includes, Bi Bim Bap, Ramyeon, Komchi Stew, Tteok Bokki, Bulgogi, Jab Chae Noodles, BBQ, Korean Pancake and lots of mouth watering snacks...
Love the simple seating ....
I had the Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap Octopus (RM23.00) and it is yummy, I really love it... However ermm... the kimchi still fails when it is compared to the authentic Korean one you eat when in Seoul....and when it comes to spiciness, the food spiciness here is so very toned down compared to when in Korea... but yes, this is really nice and I would eat it again and again in a heartbeat......
Penang Ho Chiak prides itself of bringing Penang famous and well loved food to cater to all appetite...
These prawn noodles (RM10.90) is one of their signature dish....and yes, it is quite good...
Their soya bean curd RM4.00 is very silky and sweet.. and a real treat when you just came in from the sun outside or feeling like you need something soothing to sooth your throat..... .
Cafaeyen is another outlet you have to check out, starting out as just a place that serves great drinks, they have since added authentic Thai food to their menu...
So now you can just drop by here to enjoy some of the best Tomyam and yummy Pad Thai around....
Some of the dishes they are offering on their menu...
The Pad Thai RM18.90 is simply lip smackingly good... with the right combination of sweet, salty, soury..it comes with fresh shrimp and squid as well as dried shrimp as well...
The Tomyam Nam Kan RM18.90 is creamy and spicy and comes with generous serving of shrimp as well as mushrooms... it is nice eaten like that or with a plate of rice and omelette (part of the set) for RM19.90
Of course, your should not forget to try the drinks... the Thai Iced Tea/ Signature Cha RM6.90 as well as the Thai Iced Coffee RM6.90 or if you like Green Tea, the Thai Iced Green Tea RM6.90
Haya Don serves up affordable, healthy and authentic Japanese Rice Don and Udon. But I personally feel like the dishes are very much fusion like... as the lovely grilled fish comes served with long beans as well as papadom?!
Just across Haya Don is Jam... you can visit Jam for their awesome Honey Lemon drink RM4.00 or one of the most affordable Illy's Coffee around RM4.00
With over 50 outlets here at the DA MEN mall, you will definitely be spoiled for choice when it comes to deciding what you want to eat or indulge your taste buds in..There is just so many delectable international and local cuisines with a trail of new dining concepts from Bali & Spice by Ole Ole Bali, Lim Ko Pi, Nam Heong and Weiner.
You can go on the Coffee Trail that will bring you to all the best coffee places a coffee connoisseur will want to visit.....such as Doi Chaang Caffe for their signature coffee from Thailand, Lim Ko Pi for some Hainanese 'kopi' and dal.komm Haus for a great cup of Americano...
The Sweet and Savoury Trail will bring you to the Little Fat Duck for delectable pastas....and well the Hippie Bus Cafe for some unique cakes you might not have heard before ...
The Hippie Bus Cafe is definitely an instagram worthy place with colourful wall art and back ground...
We tried out the Salted Peanut Butter Cake Rm12.00
The Gula Melaka Banana Cake RM12.00, which tasted like a lip smackingly good banana cake...
As well as the Cendol Cake RM12.00... not I am not exactly a HUGE fan of Cendol and I was half cringing at thinking of it... but you know what? After my first tentative bite.. I fell in love with this cake... it tasted almost like a Pandan Layer cake....
And yes, the Sweet and Savoury trail brings you to Milkissimo for some Hokkaido Gelato as well....
Then there is the Spicy and Juicy Trail that will bring you to Ah Cheng Laksa for some exotic Assam Laksa and Mocktail Bar for lifestyle beverages such as mocktails and coffees....
You will enjoy the Snacks Trail which brings you to John King to indulge in some soft baked cheese tart, Penang Ho Chiak for those silky smooth soya bean curd and Snackz It! for some yummy and crunchy popcorn fried chicken..
We were brought to the Canteen Food Hall, a first of its kind lifestyle food hall in Malaysia that features a cashless payment system. It is quite like a food court... but a closed one....
Everyone will be given a card when you enter this food hall. Shereen the manager told us that you can then order whatever you want from the 13 different food stall there serving Portuguese Grilled Fish, Chicken Rice balls, Oyster King, Western Dishes and all...and the food will be given after swiping the card you are holding...You only pay for whatever you eat or drink when you are leaving the place...with the info being in your card....
And since it is an enclosed , it is very safe to allow the kids a run around in this place, there is a dedicated kids area as well...there parents with little kids can sit at and allow their kids to play or watch cartoons...and there is a Kids' Fun Time on Sundays at lunch time with sand art and balloon sculpting as well between 11.30 am - 2.30pm
Some of the stalls available... and no kidding, there are over 200 food selections here in this place with great ambience and good value....
And yes, this is actually a great place too to have some corporate and private function, events and birthday parties for adults or kids with their different themed seating area... as well as pretty reasonable prices...
Since going around and eating/ trying out all those great food made us full, we were taken to our last stop, Milkissimo...(part of the Sweet and Savoury Trail) for some Hokkaido Hakodate Gelato....
The price ranges from RM11.90 for a small cup to RM17.90 for a bigger cup or you can also take away your favorite for about RM39.90....
Be spoiled for choices at the pretty exotic flavours... but I heard the popular ones are the Blueberry Cheese and also the Northern Hascup(a kind of berry found in Hokkaido)... I tried some and they tasted just great....
Loved that the outlet is just so bright and cheery...
Errmmm... Purple Sweet Potaoes Gelato anyone????
I went for the Hokkaido Strawberry Milk which was really good....
So come on over to DA MEN Mall and be spoilt for choice at to what you want to eat... there is just so much food to suit different occasions, moods, and scales of appetite...
How? Well, in this August Food Trail, shoppers will be rewarded with a free treat for RM50 spend and a Food Trail passport with RM100 spend...
Do remember to hashtag #DaMenFoodTrail to share with your friends and all of us as well what you are having on your social media...
