HYPPTV LAUNCHES ‘MARGARET AND DAVID – GREEN BEAN’, NEW DRAMA SERIES ON NOW INTERNATIONAL

Yours truly was at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur yesterday to see Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) via its award-winning IPTV service, HyppTV and now TV unveiled their latest Cantonese drama series ‘Margaret and David – Green Bean’ starring Bowie Lam, Chau Ka Yee and Bernice Liu. This Cantonese drama series is highly anticipated and all set to air first & exclusive on now International, HyppTV Channel 201 starting 11 June 2016 at 8PM in a weekly double episode.

The exclusive premiere of the drama series was officially launched by Jeremy Kung, Executive Vice President, New Media, TM; Terence Yau, Senior Vice President, Great China & International Distribution of PCCW Media Limited; and Lofai Lo, General Manager of ViuTV from Hong Kong. The launch was also attended by the leading casts; Bowie Lam (林保怡), Chau Ka Yee (周家怡) and Bernice Liu (廖碧儿).

At the launch we were also lucky to be entertained by new upcoming Hong Kong singer Kinman Wong who along with Bowie Lam sang the title song for the drama series... 

This is one new singer to look out for from his good looks to his oh so mesmerizing voice....

  

Anyway, this 26-episode drama series which was inspired and made from a novel made its Hong Kong debut on 11 April 2016 on ViuTV, Hong Kong’s latest free-to-air television broadcaster. 

Now it is brought here to Malaysia for HyppTV customers to watch and enjoy.  ‘Margaret and David: Green Bean’ drama series is part of some other fresh and popular Cantonese programmes which is on now International (Channel 201) at no additional cost!!!

Making a return to television and taking the leading role in ‘Margaret and David – Green Bean’, Bowie Lam said that the script, unique filming methods and the personality of his character captivated him to take on the role. 

He promised to erase all past experiences and start afresh with ‘Margaret and David – Green Bean’. "David's career is a taxi driver, which is very different from my previous acting roles. So I’d like to give it a try,” he shared.

Chau Ka Yee says that her character of Margaret is similar to her own. “In a relationship between a man and a woman, it is very important to communicate with each other. Little trivial things matter when two is together, especially when living under the same roof.” she said.

‘Margaret and David – Green Bean’ drama series features a host of renowned actors and actresses namely Bowie Lam, Chau Ka Yee, Bernice Liu, as well as Kenneth Tsang, Gregory Wong, Eric Kot Man Fai, among others. 

In this drama, Bowie Lam and Chau Ka Yee respectively play the leading characters David and Margaret, who have been seeing each other for more than a year.

 One day, David initiated the idea of moving in together, and they agreed to rent a new place. But, more quarrels happened since they started living together. 

Will the couple remain faithful to each other while overcoming the various struggles and challenges? Will the nuances be so strong to tear down their relationship?
