I was at the AEON Shah Alam Mall for the second time last Tuesday and well, in a state of excitement and reverence since I was at long last going to see his Highness DYMM Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj in person...since he was the one who was officiating the opening of AEON Mall Shah Alam—the 25th AEON Mall and 31st AEON Store in Malaysia....
It sure was thrilling getting to see all the protocol and pomp surrounding the area as his Highness DYMM Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj arrived shortly after the Japanese Ambassador, Dr Makio Miyagawa and in the company of the Chief Minister of Selangor, YAB Dato' Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali..
His Highness's arrival was also accompanied by some Angklung music
and a lovely traditional dance by some primary school students...
... accompanied by the gamelan....
And before the ceremony begins, the doa is being recited.....
Speaking about AEON Mall Shah Alam, Chairman of AEON Co (M) Bhd, YBhg
Dato’ Abdullah Mohd Yusof, added, “At AEON, we want to do more than just be a
shopping space. In line with our Do Mall campaign, which was launched last
year, we want to boost our customer’s experience — focusing on 5 pillars (Do
Yummy, Do Style, Do Together, Do Exciting and Do Fun) and that means offering
the best in food, fashion, community activities, shopping experiences and
entertainment. We seek to position AEON Mall Shah Alam as THE lifestyle shopping
experience mall for the 650,000 people who call Shah Alam home.”
His Highness DYMM Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj signing the plaque...
As well as releasing some butterflies ...
And handing over RM20,00 checks to a few Yayasan and orphanages..before his Highness was taken on a tour around the mall...
AEON Mall Shah Alam is so much more then just a nice place to shop... as it prides itself in its camera-worthy
aesthetical features.
The design of this new addition to the Shah Alam landscape is inspired by
an iconic landmark of the community—the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque.
The
highlight of its décor, however, lies in its fusion of Japanese and Islamic
designs, and a one-of-a-kind four-season concept inspired by Japan’s seasonal
changes: summer (natsu), autumn (aki), winter (fuyu), and spring (haru).
Fulfilling its Do Mall promise, the 1.5 million square feet “Cultural
Destination Mall” has a very an exciting mix of 160 tenants, which includes famous international retailers such as H&M, Uniqlo and the 2nd Index Living
Mall in the country.
Where food is concerned, customers are spoiled for choice
at the mall’s Gourmet Table area, which features a wide range of dining options
including a delicatessen and a bakery.
For the convenience of its shoppers, a refrigerated
locker service is also available for free, allowing them to go about their
activities without having to worry about their frozen or perishable groceries.
Other amenities include a 2,500-lot car park, shopping cart lockers,
premier 5 star prayer rooms for Muslims (and yes, they provide telekung and these telekung are changed /washed everyday according to a colour scheme), a children-only restroom ..
...and a lovely and cosy nursery, changing room and breastfeeding room for moms...
...as well as the kid-favourite, “Kidzoona” Fantasy Train.
Guided by “Customers First” philosophy, AEON Mall Shah Alam will always
strive to do better, so that they will receive a fuss-free customer service
experience.
According to YBhg Dato’ Abdullah, AEON has made it mandatory for
every retail employee to undergo stringent in-house training to enhance their
skills
Anyway, in conjunction with its grand opening, you would be pleased to know that AEON Mall Shah Alam has organised a series of Japanese and local cultural activities until 10 April.
So be sure to head over there as visitors to
the mall can expect to be treated to a Waidako drum performance, kimono
showcase, Japanese cosplay and Japanese doll-making demonstration as well as enjoy exciting tenant promotions!!! It is something you won't want to miss out on....
