Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon at Sunway Lagoon

Yours truly and her mini me the cutie monkee was most excited to be among the first few hundreds to discover the new Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon at Sunway Lagoon yesterday... (2/2/2016).. It was located in ten acres of lush tropical rainforest (painstakingly planted and nurtured by the Sunway Group.. Yeah.. because, well if you remember, this place was a barren tin ore mine many, many years ago....). Anyway this hidden world is now open to the public beginning today!!! Yup.....it's open now!!!!

We were there early to check out the opening yesterday and upon being transferred by train to the Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon from the Surf Beach area, my mini me got a sip of some yummy 'slime' juice.... 

We also managed to take some pictures here.... pretty picturesque won't you say....

The location is on the other side of the Surf Beach and Amphitheater/ wild life park petting zoo area. From the Surf Beach , you can see the area clearly...

There were some interesting activities and so since we were early, we spend some time taking part....

My daughter had her face painted.... 

Taa daa... she looks like one of those Red Indian maidens...now....

There were interesting tribal dances...

A nice friendly Red Indian on stilts saying hi..... it sure is amazing seeing them run, skip and dance around on their stilts...

And... we got our caricatures painted... This photo was taken by a professional media photographer.....heheheh....he was kind to oblige me and take a few pictures for me with my humble little Nikon S33 waterproof camera...

My daughter and I taking turns.. I had a picture drawn on Princess Leia's body and my daughter wanted to be Black Widow from Avengers...

No stone was left unturned in the creation of the Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon which boasts 14 immersive attractions, some of which were themed with Nickelodeon's hit properties, such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles....

Visitors here will definitely have an exhilarating experience with interactive play areas including a daily signature slime event, a variety of waterslide rides, retail shops, games and a myriad of food establishments and more...

You will start your adventure climbing "ancient temple" steps and pass over pineapple columns and intricate carvings leading the way to the magnificent SpongeBob SquarePants temple/structure...

Your adventure continues with geysers, sprouting water cannons, cascading falls and gooey moments with green slime....

Head deeper into the forest via suspended bridges over rivers to more thrilling, wet and wild activities as well as gravity defying rides that twist around the trees and hills.... 

The launch was definitely grand, and attended by guests of honour, the Selangor Chief Minister, YAB Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin bin Ali; Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah ; Tan Sri Datuk Seri Razman M.Hisham, Sunway Group deputy chairman and Mark Whitehead, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, VIMN Asia...

The Selangor Chief Minister, YAB Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin bin Ali said that the park was a fantastic addition to Sunway Lagoon and that it will greatly boost Selangor as a tourist destination. 

Built with an investment of more than RM100million, Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon is the result of a joint initiative between Sunway Group and VIMN, lending yet another layer of top - notch family based fun to Sunway Lagoon's five current existing parks.....none other then the Wildlife Park, Wet Park, Scream Park, Adventure Park and Surf Beach....

You can also naturally get to meet your favourite Nickelodeon characters... such as Boots and Dora the Explorer....

Or how about a selfie with SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star as well as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...

When YAB Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin bin Ali has finished signing the plaque as well as setting off the first round of fireworks, they officially count down to the first official Slime time at SpongBob SquarePants monument/temple... 

The make shift gong was set up.. and hit....

And oh no..... Here comes the slime........huhuhuh

Yikes.....has everyone turned green???? Heheheh

Another  photo opportunity with the VIPs and the key personnel of Sunway Group...at the top of the "ancient temple steps" but there were too many people so I only got half and half... not the whole picture....huhuhu.. sorry about that..

And well... everyone was impressed with the coloured fireworks and the iconic volcano suddenly coming to life and....spitting flames.....and I thought all this while it was dormant.... LOL

Remember to check out the shops for souvenirs or necessities for your trip to the jungle...This one is the Amazon...

If you are in need of some nice cold popsicles or ice cream, be sure to check out the Mat Kool ice cream truck, permanently parked there.... heheh

The Lost Raiders shop has a lot of interesting souvenirs and toys you can get for yourself or your loved ones...

Keychains?  Fridge magnets? T shirts?

How about some Nickelodeon characters.... though I must admit I would prefer to see some more personalised Nickelodeon toys.. special editions for the Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon maybe???

Don't forget to memorise the time table for meeting your favorite characters and also the Slime time!!!!

Among the ruins of the long lost civilization, you can now experience geysers, water cannons, waterfalls, slide down and play catch with SpongeBob and the Bikini Bottom Gang! 

Get ready for the rise of a Slime powered civilization and join in the celebration for the ultimate honor of a ‘Great Slime Deluge’ at 4pm every day!! Turn green for the day and enjoy the free-spirited mess with full of smiles and laughter, but be safe and responsible!

The PRIMEVAL is set to take you on a journey of our  Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon with exciting twists, turns and drops that climbs over trees, hills and into the gullies to experience nature at its best. There are 3 unique ride experiences which are the.... COBRA CREEK, BOA CONSTRICTOR & CROCODILE GULLY that can be enjoyed by all ages.

Be careful... there is a gigantic King Cobra there spitting venom....

The HIPPO VALLEY is where all rivers flow into a busy waterway where tribes meet to catch a drink and laze until sunset. Watch Hippos swim on the banks and monkeys swinging from trees to trees. 

Catch the ‘Whopping Splash’ coming your way while you enjoy the serenity of the rainforest. You will hear tribal drums and tribal warriors calling for celebration!

Of course, beware of all those open mouthed hippos... there are many all around...

The JUNGLE FURY will take you on a over-the-edge ride with your family and friends, experience surprise drops, twisting turns and ending with a wholesome family fun that ensures a happy family always stays together

Well, I am only sharing a small portion of what you can find there... There are so much more you can discover there at the Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon... Most of the rides are couple or family oriented as they will require two or more people on the floats and such...

You can get to the Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon now on the train from the Surf Beach, or you can just do some good old fashion exercise and walk through all those scenic places and see the amazing offerings Sunway Lagoon has including ATV rentals, bungee jumping, trampoline jumps etc... 

There is definitely something for everyone.. whether you are the type who loves cute things, the animal lover, the death defying type etc..etc..

Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon is now opened to public from every Monday to Sunday ... at 10am to 6pm....
