I love dimsum... but sadly there is not too many halal dimsums around that actually taste great....I have however found a handful or is it less then a handful of really noteworthy ones... and among these list would have to be Dolly DimSum. I first tasted Dolly when a PR friend brought me there to the outlet at Avenue K and I instantly fell in love with the ambience, setting and the food....
So when the new outlet was opened at NU Sentral, it was a must visit place for me, my hubby and my daughter...
50470 Kuala Lumpur
Website: www.dollydimsum.com
Facebook: www.facebook.com/dollydimsum
Business Hours:Open 11.00am till 10.00pm
Dolly is a very modern and pretty tea house...We ordered what we wanted from the selection of tea and it came in a pretty tea pot...
Prawn Cheong Fun (RM11.80) |
This would have to be my all time favourite... These delicate rice rolls are filled with succulent prawns and steamed to perfection and served with some Pak Choy and amazingly irresistible prawn sambal with belacan... which is really almost to die for... My daughter and I are always left greedy for more and will ask for extra serving of this sambal...
Crystal Prawn Dumpling (RM 9.50) and 'Har Gao' Dumpling (RM10.20) |
The Crystal Prawn Dumplings and 'Har Gao' dumplings are not too different, both with delicate, translucent, dumpling skin stretched over a generous prawn filling, but the Crystal Prawn Dumpling had chives added in the filling.. You might like to dip your dumplings in the bean and chilli sauce ..
Roasted BBQ Buns (Rm8.50) and Siew Mai (RM9.50) |
The Roasted BBQ Buns are one of my favourites...It is hard not to like this white fluffy buns with Dolly's Signature Honey BBQ Meat filling... The Siew Mai consisted of a chicken and prawn filling steamed with some shitake mushrooms. It was just delicate on your palate and very tender.
Personally, I can polish off the whole basket alone....yeah.. when I visit Dolly's alone, I normally order just the Prawn Cheong Fun , one basket of Siew Mai and these Roasted BBQ Buns and believe me it is soooooo filling....
My daughter enjoying the Roasted BBQ Buns...
Snowskin Mochi with Creamy Premium Durian |
I ordered this Snowskin mochi filled with creamy premium durian as it was on the special menu and came highly recommended when I was there...It had a mochi like skin on it and the filling was really super duper yummy.... very creamy durian filling, definitely a real treat for durian lovers...I was there a few months back, huhuhu and they said it was really a hot seller.......
All in all, Dolly DimSum is a lovely place to indulge yourself with delicate and delicious dimsum.... It is a bit pricey but the taste, ambience and all makes it worth it!!! So keep calm, go ahead and indulge in yummy dimsums at Dolly DimSum..
Dolly DimSum is pork free and does not have any alcohol in it...the meat are all sourced from Halal suppliers...so you can find lots of Muslims indulging here too...
