During his talk on Skincare among babies, Consultant Paediatric Dermatologist, Dr. Leong Kin Fon, said, “In many cases, food allergies are not the triggering factor of eczema in infants. Genetic and environmental factors also need to be taken into account. The environment found in urban cities such as Kuala Lumpur is not conducive to healthy baby skin development.”

Yes. Baby’s skin is only 1/3 the thickness of adult skin and therefore it is necessary to provide them the most ideal moisturization care until their skin matures. We recommend using the Newborn Pure Skincare Series from birth and beyond. Additionally, Natulayer™ ensures that a baby’s skin will be well hydrated and protected as the formula locks in moisture into baby’s delicate skin, regardless of the age.

What is the difference between the Nourishing Shampoo and the Purifying Body Wash? Do I still need to use a Shampoo?

The Nourishing Shampoo and the Purifying Body Wash contain different conditioning properties. During the first few weeks, it is much easier to maintain and wash baby’s hair. The Purifying Body Wash is a suitable choice in this regard for many mums. However, it is recommended that shampoo be used in minimal amount, as it provides better conditioning properties to the hair and scalp than a wash can.

As Baby’s hair become thicker and prone to oiliness (eg. perspiration), the Nourishing Shampoo becomes the perfect choice as it contains higher conditioning leave-in properties and does a more effective cleanse while retaining moisture to help maintain a healthy pH level for babies’ sensitive scalp. It also helps to condition the hair for no-tangle, no-tear experience. 

What is the difference between the Moisturizing Lotion & Protective Cream?

The moisturizing lotion is designed to provide instant hydration to baby’s skin. Its light texture spreads easily and allows for a quick absorption into baby’s skin.  Additionally, the application time for the moisturizing lotion is much lesser than a thicker cream. The moisturizing lotion should also be applied on the body and can be used throughout the day.

On the other hand, the protective cream is designed to provide a coat of protection with targeted moisture correction to neglected areas prone to dryness and sensitivity. This includes areas such as the periphery of the lips (eg milk rash), elbows, knees, fingers, toes, buttocks and other delicate areas. This can be used in conjunction with the Moisturizing Lotion for added moisturization value.

Can the protective cream be used as a diaper rash cream?

The Protective Cream is not formulated to be used as a diaper rash cream as it does not contain zinc oxide/titanium dioxide that most diaper rash creams do. The protective cream should instead be used as a first line of defence for baby’s bottoms; i.e. protecting skin so as to avoid diaper rash. It is important to change baby’s diapers regularly to ensure that their skin is well protected and nourished. Applying the Protective Cream each time after diaper change will lessen the chance of developing diaper rash.

What is the benefit of using Calming oil?

The Calming Oil contains a uniquely crafted formula which helps soothes and calms skin to provide babies with a calming sensory experience. It also contains salient emollient properties that make it ideal for baby massages. Olive Oil from the Olive Fruit contains anti-flammatory ingredients; while Fruits Oil and Germ Oil, extracted respectively from Olive Fruit and Rice (Wheat) are added to complement the formula.

In Addition, the Calming Oil is petroleum free and does not contain any harsh chemicals.

Is the Purifying Body Wash tear free?

All PIGEON products are made in Japan with the highest quality standards. The Purifying Body Wash has been tested on consumers and has undergone successful and strict toxicity, allergy, irritation and safety tests. There were no cases of tearing or eye irritation during these tests.
