Butterfly Charity: Big Sister Project

It was a weekend of charity with the Butterfly Project Malaysia and yours truly was up early and at 1Utama early in the morning to meet up with 15 other butterflies to be a part of the Big Sister (Big Brother ) project where we were each paired up with a child from the Chrestus Home in Cheras.

We gathered there early in the morning and waited for the children to arrive, while indulging in our selfies and wefies as usual...

And... this one all of course was at the entrance of Hamley's toystore at 1Utama....

Elsewhere, at the same time at Chrestus Home in Cheras, our 'adik angkat (s)' for the day were all waiting for their Uber rides which generously included a Mercedes to pick them up and send them all the way to 1Utama where they could meet up with all of us...

They were understandably shy and bashful when we first met up. This is a picture of me and my adik angkat or is anak angkat a more apt word, since all my kids are older then Haresh here who is just 8 years old. 

He was a great kid who seemed quite matured. After identifying and pairing up with all our assigned kids, we then walked hand in hand into the toy store...

Haresh told me he was a fan of Transformers, Ninja Turtles and Avengers... and he especially liked Iron Man...thus he could not resist trying out the Iron Man mask...he initially wanted it but after having grabbed a few stuff, he decided he did not want it that much....

After rounding the boys toys area, he decided to get one of those electronic guitars, a gun and a Ninja Turtle motorcycle instead... and this is my boy with his loot for the day....

We headed to the cashier counter where the Food Panda Malaysia management team were there to pay for the children's selections...

After getting his purchases paid, Haresh here happily totes his toys all around....

And even proudly shows off and compare what he go with all the other brothers at his home....

After everyone has finished shopping, we then headed to TGIF for lunch...... He ordered a spaghetti and a Strawberry slushie for his lunch. 

While waiting for food to be served, boys being boys , he wanted to play games and so since it was his day, I downloaded the subway surfer on my phone for him to play...while waiting for his food....

He was thrilled each time he beat his own score... 

And when his meal came, he obediently ate his food.....

Halfway through our meals, the Food Panda Malaysia management team surprised all of us by giving everyone, the Big Sisters (Big Brothers) as well as the kids all a Panda!!!!! Oh my god.... that Panda was just so cute and irresistibly cuddly.....

Anyway, it was definitely an amazing morning getting to spend time with fellow butterflies as well as the less privileged kids.. all in the spirit of giving and having some fun time together..
