So just having done playing Big Sisters (and brothers) to a bunch of underprivileged kids on Saturday, my Sunday morning has me waking up early again, and heading far, far away to Puchong IOI Mall with a bunch of other Butterflies to pack our very own gifts to be given to children from the Yayasan Seribu Harapan Malaysia...
We registered ourselves and walked into the Caffe Bene all set to fill up the Bingsu Box that was given to each Butterfly who was involved in this project....
Before we started, as bloggers, we could not resist the lovely ambience of the Caffe Bene, a Korean franchise and naturally started to work taking some pictures around the place......
Check out the pies, cakes, salads available... besides the coffee....
There are amazing tasting Gelatos of various flavours as well....
And some new additions to the Caffe Bene, so now you can DIY your own Caffe Bene Cappucino or Caffe Latte at home or at work or anywhere you like...
And of course, to wake us up from our half dazed state on a Sunday morning, some coffee.... for me it was a lovely chilled cup of Caffe Latte
There were lovely grilled/toasted sandwiches also...for us to help ourselves to....
Tadaa... our breakfast.....before we got to work....
This was the Caffe Bene Bingsu Container given to us to fill up and decorate... and it was slightly bigger then expected so I went out and got a few other goodies to fill it up with...
.... and this was my finished product... I did not quite know what to fill up for my little boy... I was assigned or rather I had chosen an 11 year old boy so all the things in the box was specially chosen for him.....
Taa daaa... sorry but sometimes I can be a little narcissistic and here is a selfie of me and my packed Bingsu Box... since the recipient was a little boy, I decided to keep the decorations simple....
....and picture break... let us take a wefie.......
Fellow blogger pals all hard at work with their own Bingsu Boxes....
Everyone here hard at work, some decorating their Caffe Bene Bingsu Boxes even more prettier and elaborate then others (especially those making their Bingsu Boxes for girls)...it was so interesting to see everyone with their own creativity...
I finished fast, so I redeemed my single scoop of Gelato... and I opted for a Strawberry Gelato...while waiting for others to finish....
And... when my blogger pals were done with their creations, everyone took some pictures posing with their creations....
Then it was Bingsu time.... Ok... What is Bingsu.....hmmmm
Bingsu 빙수, which is a popular dessert in Korean comprising of ice shavings and various ingredients, usually azuki red beans, sweetened condensed milk, fruits, Korean rice cake, cereal flakes and ice cream found almost everywhere in Korea during the summer months... In my own words... it is... what Ice Kacang is to Malaysians...Bingsu is to the Koreans...
This is the Coffee Bingsu.....
The Green Tea Tower Bingsu....
This cutie is simply irresistible to chocolate lovers... the Choco Loco Bingsu.....
Cookies and Cream Bingsu......
My favourite... the Strawberry Bingsu, a combination of sweet and sour and of course... cold....
All the lovely Bingsu (s) in a row..
My and all the Bingsu... which one should I start with......
But hey, wait up.. there is a way to eat your Bingsu... first, since they are so picture /instagram worthy... take a picha (picture)..... then .....
Yeah... mash it up... to enjoy your bingsu, you have to destroy it.. and mix it up really nicely........before indulging in it.....
It is soooo heavenly.. you really have to try these Bingsu (s) if you haven't done so yet.....
Last but not least, a selfie with the lovely Tammy Lim with a heart of gold...
Thanks to Butterfly Project Malaysia for organizing this awesome event and to Caffe Bene IOI Mall in Puchong (the newest Caffe Bene outlet) for hosting us, feeding us and putting up with our individual idiosyncrasies ......
