“The only way I can
cope with the cost of living is would be to marry a rich man.” That was what a
young Malaysian graduate said after recounting her need of
having to pay her father RM500 each month so she could use his car to get to
work. She also said she does not have enough savings for a down payment for a
house on her meagre salary, and has to share a house with seven others.
Though some people deemed her as being a spoilt brat for demanding
a cushy life almost immediately after graduating, many others agree with her
over the rising cost of living in Malaysia
A survey by online recruitment company JobStreet.com shows
that nine in 10 working Malaysians find it hard dealing with the hike in cost
of living, especially after the Goods and Services Tax (GST) was implemented in
April. The survey of 1,454 people showed that one in four were already faced
problems even before GST came into effect.
Everything’s going up, even though people’s wages are not. Costs
for basic needs are even going up faster than overall inflation.
A local Investment Bank’s chief economist have said that a
family of four living in Kuala Lumpur would need a “survivable” household
income of RM7,000 to RM10,000 and this includes savings. This is based
on the assumption that both parents are working, have two vehicles, a home
mortgage and child care expenses on top of the usual expenses.
Around 10 years ago, a household income of RM3,000 was enough to keep our head above water, unlike now....

All that being said, I am sure you can relate with me how difficult life is and how we have to count our ringgit for every meal that we have.
So, when I learn of the Worthy Book, I was all excited and immediately got myself one....

So how did I use my Worthy Book... I was having snacks with my mother at Mid Valley, so we headed over to Madame Waffle for some waffles.
Madame Waffle is a Japanese style quick-service café that
serves a selection of artisan waffles, specialty house blend coffee, premium
green tea latte series, as well as other delectable treats to tantalise your
taste buds. Baked fresh in store every day, their waffles are handmade with the

I ordered the Tiramisu Waffle for RM11 and with the coupon in my Worthy Book, got a Classic Waffle for free... and then I ordered a Cappuccino for myself for RM10 and got another one for my mother for free...
All in all, I only had to pay RM21 for all that!!! I got a savings of at least RM15 from all that...
My cappuccino... I love cappuccino because of the coffee art work on top....
My Tiramisu waffle.. doesn't it look so pretty and delectable? It taste just as good as it looks...
My mom enjoyed her Classic waffles well enough as she wasn't a fan of all those whipped cream and stuff.....
Thanks to my Worthy Book, both my mom and I got to indulge in Madame Waffle treats....
Then after more window shopping and browsing around, we decided to go for some fruit juices...
Here , you can see the vouchers available to use for JuiceWorks...
I decided to use the Buy 1 and Free 1 voucher as well as get my Free Juicy VIP membership card which was worth RM12!!!

A few days later, I was at Pavilion and decided to go for some pasta...
Capricciosa is an idyllic, cozy and friendly restaurant also makes a great impression for business lunches and dinners which seeks the perfect fresh Italian gourmet. One of the distinctive elements of its offerings is that the each individual dishes are presented and prepared in generous servings that can be shared with family and friends.
Capricciosa prides itself with serving fresh, cook-to-order pastas and scrumptious pizzas way back in 1978 and surprisingly it was founded by an award winning Japanese chef – the late Masaaki Honda.who opened his first restaurant in Shibuya, Tokyo and later expanded to other parts of the world, riding along the quality and deliciousness of its offerings.
