I have a BIG problem... and that is, I love my photography.. So you can tell if you have been reading my blog or following my facebook page: www.facebook.com/mieranadhirahdotcom all this while, it is heavily peppered with assortment of photos...
For me, I feel that photos tell a lot more stories then what I can say and besides I am just a high school graduate, never got the chance to go further then that, so I am just truly an average person....
So recently, my husband brought his family along on a four days , three nights trip to Langkawi, and by his family, believe me or not, it was his ex wife, who is very much like a sister to me, and their children, and well, myself, my mother and my girls... heheh...
I know it sounds odd, but we all had a great time despite the oddness of it, yeah, I know like, how many men can bring their ex wife and current wife along on a trip together, but this is not our first trip together and we have been on several holidays together.
Anyway, here is my mother and my youngest daughter, taken at the Langkawi Airport upon arrival there. We flew AirAsia and I managed to get a pretty good deal on the flight tickets a couple of months ago... Our hired cars were waiting for us at the airport. We manage to get a Viva for RM60 pernight and MyVi for RM70 pernight...

Since we arrived in the evening, there was only time for dinner once we drove to our hotel apartment in Kuah. We had dinner at a lovely restaurant which was recently opened My Chef Seafood Restaurant, which served pretty yummy seafood...
After having dinner, we went back to the hotel to settle down, unwind, unpack and the kids went out to town ....
Early next morning, we woke up and got ready for breakfast, the problem here is that the hotel had a function, so the coffee house was used for the function and the breakfast venue was then shifted temporarily to the mezzanine floor.
As you can see this hotel here is very pretty and I really like the surroundings and so on, but the set back here is the service and the food. It is quite a crying shame...
There were lovely decorations
And a pretty walkway full of greenery to the coffee house and pool
and the exterior of the hotel was also pretty dreamy and lovely , like a fairy tale castle, and that could have been a fairy tale stay had the staff been more friendlier and the food served better...I really pray and hope that the management of the hotel bucks up or is taken over by a more able management so this hotel does not deteriorate any further.
Check out the lovely pool which faces the seaside in Kuah as well.. though there is no beach here....
Anyway, after a dismal breakfast, where the food was too oily or tasteless, we headed to the Kuah Jetty and went on our island hopping adventure... I will not go too much into that as it will be in my next entry on Langkawi, so keep reading my posts ok....
When the island hopping came to an end, we got back to Kuah town and went duty free shopping... My mother and little daughter here were busy looking for souvenirs..
My husband's ex wife, myself and the others were more focused on buying dinnerware, cookware and chocolates... Well, Langkawi is most well known for affordable dinnerware, so if you are fancying that new Luminarc or Corelle , you really should check it out here....
And if you have a sweet tooth like me, Langkawi is a heaven sent place to buy all the chocolate and candy you desire.... I think I spent nearly RM150 on chocolates... and all imported ones.. Milka, Kit Kat, M&Ms, Daim, Nutella , Bounty, Pepero, etc.. etc.
On the third day we were here, we also went to the Bird Paradise and Wildlife Park which will also be a separate blog as there are many photos and we had so much fun there.....
Later, when we finished , we continued the shopping craze...this time in Cenang town. You have to realise that there are places certain things are cheaper then other places....
On our last day there, we brought my girls to the Cenang Beach for them to see the beach there .
The beach was pretty, but this side of the beach was busy with water sports when the sea was calm, you can go parasailing, or on a banana boat or jet ski if you liked...
However since we were there early, the beach seemed quiet...
So my girls took the time to go take some photos ... just like their mom...
My little girl then enjoyed herself looking and picking sea shells up while we adults enjoyed a refreshing coconut drink in the shade...
Then we went for a quick lunch in Cenang town before heading to the airport....
At the airport, yours truly here could not resist taking pictures of the planes that landed there.. well, for me, it is always fascinating watching planes parked, landing or take off...
It does bring back some fond memories of the time I was in Amsterdam, and how a friend of mine and I would go near the airstrip near Schipol airport and watch the planes arrive or take off.....I had fun imagining where the plane was headed to....
And.... ta daa...our plane finally arrived and just before we boarded the plane....
Our last pictures on Langkawi island... hehehe.....
My mother and my girls.....
Well, this is not all there is, so stay tuned and I will be sharing more stories and pictures of a few other fun places in Langkawi....... Thanks for reading and drop a comment or two if you like please.... thanks....
