MTV DECLARES A FOOD AND MUSIC REVOLUTION

MTV enlists Internet stars to put a Millennial spin on the traditional cooking show for channels internationally

Premieres in Asia on Thursday, 7 May at 6.30pm (WIB), 7.30pm (SG), 8.30pm (MY) and Friday, 8 May at 11.30am (PH)

MTV announced today the production of a brand new international series Brothers Green: EATS! which aims to revolutionize the traditional cooking series for today’s youth audience with a unique MTV spin. The half-hour series features Brooklyn-based brothers Mike and Josh Greenfield as they dish up ‘food for the people, by the people’ in this half-hour series, drawing inspiration from across New York City and around the world, and featuring cameo appearances from surprise guests and A-list musicians.

Produced by Storyville Entertainment, Brothers Green: EATS! is set to air as a 12 x 30 minute series across MTV’s international linear channels and in various formats across its digital platforms from spring 2015. The show premieres in Asia on Thursday, 7 May at 6.30pm (WIB), 7.30pm (SG), 8.30pm (MY) and Friday, 8 May at 11.30am (PH).

The Brothers Green built a following on their YouTube channel with their unique, irreverent “dorm room-style” cooking tips. Storyville Entertainment began conversations with the duo, recognizing the unique energy the brothers brought to their segments. Meanwhile, MTV was searching for the perfect blend of cooking, comedy and fun for its youth audience.

“This program will be our answer to the traditional cooking show, MTV style,” said Bruce Gillmer, Executive Vice President of Talent and Music Programming/Events, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN). “Mike and Josh are a unique duo – they’re super passionate, highly creative and custom-made for the MTV audience. They’re resourceful, ‘make something outta nothing’ kind of guys. And our viewers are going to love them.”
