Product review : Nature Republic SNAIL Solution Hydrogel Mask Sheet.

When I first took a look at this face mask, I was both excited and half disgusted. Well, I was excited because it was from Nature Republic, quite a well known brand from Korea and the half disgusted part was noting that the mask was errmm... made with snail secretion.

It was just the same reaction for my little daughter when she saw me taking this mask out to try on. She spotted what was printed on the cover and wrinkled her face with an "Eeeuuuwww, Mummy are you seriously going to try this?!!!"

Anyway, here are some background for Nature Republic, for those who do not know the brand. Nature Republic (Hangul: 네이처리퍼블릭) is a South Korean cosmetics brand.

It began back in  2009, as a cosmetic brand that uses natural ingredients for their products. The brand's philosophy is 'A Sense of the Beginning.

By 2010, Nature Republic has opened stores in Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia

                  

Among Nature Republic Endorsers include Rain, JYJ ,  KARA's Gyuri, Hara and Jiyoung and also Jang Keun-suk .

  

In August 2013, it was announced that Girls' Generation's Taeyeon and EXO signed a 2-year endorsement deal with Nature Republic.

Snail Solution Hydrogel Mask Sheet contains snail secretion filtrate and its refreshing texture soothes distressed skin while gently embracing the surface of the face, moisturizing from inside out.

  

Usage Method

1. After cleansing your face, use your toner as usual.   

2. Open a pouch and remove divided both films of top and bottom of face. 

3. Put the top mask to fit to the eye shape and the bottom

to fit to the mouth shape tightly. 

4. You may remove the mask after 20 minutes and pat the remainder

formula/essence into the skin.

I found the mask a little confusing to put on at first having to remove a front and back plastic but once I knew how it worked, it was a breeze. I like the mask which is silky smooth and cling to the face. The sensation is refreshingly soothing on any acne marks or scars. 

It really helped with one huge pimple mark I had and also a scratch I got from my cat when I bathed it earlier. The redness receded quickly and my pimple mark felt much smaller.

As for the plastic covering, I made full use of the balance essence on it by rubbing it on my feet. Hehehe.....
