Happy New Year ... Welcome 2015....
But right in the morning of the first day of the new year, my husband's family is already hit with some sad news. Early this morning, my husband's uncle on his late father's side passed away. Al-Fatihah....
Then it was a good friend /colleague who passed away from Leukemia. Al- Fatihah and may his family be strong....
May the deceased be blessed and placed among the great Muslims in heaven...
Anyway, since I am home , I would like to share and recollect what I've gone through in 2014. It was a challenging year indeed both for the nation and for myself as well, but also a great memorable year as well.
January 2014...
Both my eldest daughter and I were warded in the KPJ Tawakkal in Jalan Pahang for dengue. It was a hard time especially for me as I hated needles and having dengue means you are poked here and there every few hours..... but well, I got through that as my daughter.. and since it was a peak time for dengue, we were discharged from hospital in just a couple of days.
February 2014...
We celebrated my husband's birthday, planned by my daughter and it was not too eventful then....
We managed a trip to the Lost World of Tambun as well as a stay at the Felda Hot Springs Residences in Sungkai
March 2014..
A few things happened...
I began blogging seriously and had the opportunity to go on my first blogging FAM trip totally clueless (I certainly wasn't told or adviced on etiquettes or how to blog etc) and tried to blend in. The trip was to Kuala Gandah Elephant Conservation Centre and also to Pulau Perhentian. It was fun and I did my best but to be told it wasn't satisfactory and that the organisers were not pleased with my effort.
It was frustrating as my friend refused to divulge more then that beside just tell me that the organisers were displeased with sending me. Duhhhh
My husband had a stroke on the 23rd March which send our blended family into a panic but fortunately it was just a mild stroke and he was good .
April 2014 ...
Sent my son off to PLKN ... it was a proud moment having your son go off to learn to be a man and serve in the National Service...
May 2014..
I got to attend the Public Mutual Annual Awards Night for the 6th year in a row... which will not be the case this year... though...
I qualified for a trip to Ho Chi Minh but did not go for it , instead I embarked on a backpacking trip from KL to Siem Riem to Bangkok to Koh Samui and back to KL. It was an eye opening and fun trip.
I really had a great time at Angkor Wat though it was tiring and exhausting cramping everything in just a few days. On more wish off my bucket list....
June 2014..
My husband suffered from a bad food poisoning after a visit to the Desa Waterpark and also another minor stroke.
My step daughter celebrated her 20th birthday in the hotel her mom worked in. It was a lovely event.
July 2014..
I learn to get busy with baking my own cookies during the fasting month of Ramadhan...
August 2014..
My husband, little girl along with his ex wife, kids went together on a trip to Melaka and we stayed at the lovely Casa del Rio.. It was an amazing trip and I enjoyed it loads...
On National day 31st August, I brought my little diva to the Dataran Merdeka to watch the parade for the very first time... it was freakingly crowded but we felt proud to be there and a sense of patriotism. It was a great feeling... God willing, will attend again this year...
September 2014..
I attended the MATTA fair and entered the contest and which amazingly I won 3 nights on the Costa Victoria cruise in a Balcony Cabin....
October 2014..
I finally realised my dream and got another wish off my bucket list... meeting and taking a photo of my idols... Tun Dr M and Tun Dr Siti Hasmah... this opportunity happened at the Women Extraordinaire Forum I had the opportunity to attend as well...
November 2014...
This was a pretty eventful month as I got to strike off another two of wishes of my bucket list...
It was a dream come true when I was invited by the PR company to visit LEGOLAND Malaysia and also stay a night at the LEGOLAND hotel....sponsored by Paddle Pop as well as LEGOLAND Resorts Malaysia.
My other dream came true a few days later when my little girl and I then headed down south to Singapore to board our Costa Victoria cruise...We truly enjoyed it and had the most memorable time there... as well as get to enjoy Singapore during the Christmas season...
December 2014..
This month was pretty eventful with a lot of activities and blogging events.
Some of my close schoolmates/classmates and I had a small get together and it was just great getting together with close friends whom you know for more then 20 years now....
At the same time I got to join the Butterfly Project Christmas Party which was truly awesome and had my first real taste of stuffed roasted turkey.
There you had it... some of my most memorable recollection of 2014. There are also a lot of good moments and a few sad ones, but these are the ones that are most memorable to me....
And of course the mysteriously missing MH 370 and the tragic MH17 and QZ8501...May the family and friends stay strong and please, God, let MH 370 be found so the families can have a closure...
