Yours truly was invited to one of my favourite hotels to witness the annual Christmas Lighting Ceremony . I rushed of to the Grand Millenium and was slightly late as the jam from Jalan Tun Razak in the evening was really horrendous .
I got there just in time to witness dozens of beautiful angelic children from the Gardens International School singing the Christmas Carols at the make believe fireplace Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur has put up.
I was mesmerized by their sweet voice and their innocence. It was beautiful...
The beautiful Christmas decorations around the lobby with the huge Christmas tree near the entrance was also amazing.
I missed out on watching the Finnish Ambassador, His Excellency Matti Pullinen (Finnish Ambassador to Malaysia) give his speech and also read out the letter from Santa Claus, as well as watch them actually light up the beautiful huge Christmas tree.
There were golden stars ("Star for a child") on the Christmas tree , one for each of the children struggling from cancer at the General Hospital KL. Hotel guests and members of the public are encouraged to pick a star and buy a gift for that particular child , all in the Christmas spirit of giving...and making a difference in these kids life.
Watch my mini instagram clip (though it is not that clear)
Another clip
There will be other Christmas Carollers
24th December from 7.30pm
25th December from 12.30pm
But what which was the most fascinating thing of all would have to be the real snowman which was really cold and made of snow, unlike the cotton or styrofoam snowman we normally encounter in a humid and hot tropical country like our dear Malaysia.
This snowman is definitely the real deal and all the kids around including my little one were really agog with wonder as they touch the snowman and to find it is made of real snow/ice
The beautiful fireplace was covered with all kinds of Christmas goodies that even make my mouth water. Unfortunately for me, they were not yet on sale during that day. I do so love gingerbread and Christmas stollen, and chocolates in case you are wondering.... he he he he...
And hey, there was Santa, and he emerged at the fireplace and brought little teddies for all the kids that day!!
Some photo opportunities that can't be missed of Executive Chef Laurent, Santarinas and the little Christmas Carollers... Unfortunately my camera caught the picture a little too blurry...
Last but not least, my little princess has to take a picture with Santa.... and she did!!!
Thank you to Grand Millennium for inviting me over to witness and enjoy a great start to the Christmas festivities....
There will be a lot of going ons for Christmas...
