Yours truly and her family was one of the lucky people who got to be the first to check out the Special Media Preview of the brand new holiday show only at the LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort, which today unveiled the new-look City Stage, which will be the focal point of this year’s holiday season celebrations.
The City Stage, found at the LEGO® City area of the popular family theme park, has been transformed into an indoor, fully air-conditioned theatre.
The enhancements carried out at the City Stage mean guests can now enjoy the entertaining shows and performances, created for the whole family, in a cooler and more comfortable indoor environment.
“We’ve given the City Stage a refreshing new look and feel, and we are delighted to have it ready in time for the festive season. Our new festive show has already started and it’s really special with a full cast member team from Europe. LEGOLAND is all about bringing the family together and our Holiday Extravaganza celebrations promises a myriad of activities including fireworks to ring in the New Year,” said Casper Bonavent, Director of Operations LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort.
The Resort is the ideal Christmas holiday destination for families with children 2-12 years old. It brings together a Theme Park, Water Park and Hotel in one LEGO® themed location.
As well as the rides, slides, shows and attractions, guests can enjoy a host of interactive festive activity during the Holiday Extravaganza at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort. The highlight of the Holiday Extravaganza this year will be a special festive show and a giant LEGOLAND advent calendar installation.
The show is brand new play and was written especially for LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort.
Featuring a six member cast, ‘When Santa Got Stuck Up The Chimney’ tells the story of the Ginger Bread family.
It’s Christmas Eve, and Mrs Ginger Bread is looking forward to a traditional Christmas with all the usual festive celebrations. She is trying her best to get her son, Ginger, into the Christmas spirit. But he does not see the point, preferring to play with his PSP. In fact, he thinks it's all .....boring!
And then Santa comes to visit but somehow gets stuck in the chimney. How will he get free and how will Ginger begin to believe in Christmas? Find out at the LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort!!!
The LEGOLAND advent calendar is a huge rectangular installation features 24 windows, one for each day of December leading up to Christmas day. Every evening at 7pm starting 1st December a lucky guest will have the chance to open a window and win the special prize hidden behind it.
Prizes that are sure to make Christmas even more special this year have been sponsored by LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort’s partners. They include LEGO, Maybank, Celcom, Unilever,The Traders Hotel, LEGO, Thistle Hotel, Pulai Springs Resort and many more.
Adding to the festivities this year is the daily lighting ceremony of the amazing LEGO Christmas tree. It is made from more than 400,000 LEGO DUPLO bricks and measures more than nine metres high. The tree is even covered with decorations made from LEGO bricks. You really have to see it to be awed. I surely was!!!
So, for those who can’t wait for Santa to visit them, LEGOLAND Malaysia has the perfect solution. Guests will be able to visit the LEGO Santa model, which has been created using more than 250,000 LEGO bricks. There are also many special festive treats happening around the Park including carol singers, mascot appearances and Christmas themed LEGO building activities.
