Hearty Collection of RM23,749.78 for '1 Hati bersama Antabax dan Giant' campaign In Support of IJN Foundation

The  4th annual corporate social responsibility initiative by the two brands

Yours truly was invited by Antabax to witness this exciting charitable event by Antabax, Giant to IJN Foundation yesterday.

Antabax, a trusted and innovative antibacteria personal care range that provides 24-hour protection, in collaboration with leading Malaysian retailer Giant has raised RM23,749.78 in funds for IJN Foundation through its One Heart With Antabax & Giant Fundraising campaign.



The campaign that ran from 1 July 2014 to 31 August 2014 saw 5% of  sales from all Antabax products at all 128 Giant outlets nationwide channeled to IJN Foundation in support of its Patient Assistance Programme


The cheque presentation ceremony was held at IJN, received by Yang Mulia Raja Datin Zuraida Raja Mansur, Chairman of Social and Welfare Committee, Member of the Board of Trustees, IJN Foundation.





" Now into our fourth year of partnership, Antabax and Giant saw the IJN Foundation as a suitable recipient, as it is a non-profit organisation that provides financial assistance to support the surgery cost of poor patients. Since the foundation relies heavily on the generosity of donors to support its activities, we are glad that the 'One Heart' campaign able to contribute to a certain extent, if not fully, to this noble initiative," said Mr Francis Ng, General Manager , Household and Personal care, Marketing Division, Lam Soon Edible Oils Sdn Bhd.

"Giant has always been very supportive of our initiatives, and the synergy has contributed almost RM100,000 to four charitable organizations, namely Rumah Ilham, Rumah KIDS, the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA) and Women's Aid Organization (WAO), which we select carefully each year. We hope this synergy with Giant will continue for years to come," he added.

According to the World Health Organization, heart disease tops the list of leading diseases in Malaysia, which is followed by mental illness, stroke, road traffic injuries and cancers.





Mr Norine Erica Majaman, General Manager of Marketing, GCH Retail (M) Sdn Bhd, said, " Heart Disease is known to be a common and leading killer in the country, and treatments are not cheap either. We at Giant believe any small contribution from everyone can bring about change and help save a  life. In the span of just two months, the sum collected through the 'One Heart' campaign says a lot about  Giant's customers and Antabax users who are caring and sensitive towards the needy and deserving heart patients, regardless of their backgrounds."

After the cheque presentation ceremony, guests as well as members of the media were brought on a guided tour by IJN Foundation to the paediatric ward for a short meet and greet session with the children. Each child patient also received Antabax personal care kit.




"IJN Foundation raises funds to help needy heart patients and also of the main supporter to the ongoing research done by IJN's specialists. In year 2013, the foundation spent RM3 million under its Patient Assistance Programme  to financially assist the surgery cost of 86 patients in which 43 were adults and another 43 were children. We would like to thank Antabax, Giant and their customers for
contributing their part to those in need to live a better life after their treatment. With heart disease as the leading cause of death in Malaysia, it has become a vital necessity that funds are available to save more lives,"said Yang Mulia Raja Datin Zuraida Raja Mansur.




From 2006 to 2013, the foundation's Patient Assistance Program has provided assistance of approximately RM19 million to about 797 heart patients.
