All women love to play with their hair, it is a well known fact that the hair is a woman's crowning glory , so 99% of women will want their hair to look beautiful. But sadly, because of this, “damaged”hair is now one of the common hair state in the world.

That’s the finding from a new beauty report from Dove Hair which reveals eight of ten women now have damaged hair. Why? Let us find out....
Women like me love styling our hair even though we are aware of the damage the styling routine can cause. Blow drying, curling, straightening, colouring, ombrē, or highlights – when it comes to hairstyles, there are so many to choose from, isn't it. I know I have to colour my hair at least once every 2 months. And I just toned down my ombrē colours recently as well as thought it was too striking on me.
.Sadly, hair damage is caused by a combination of chemical treatments, styling routines and environmental factors. It is also caused by stress. Heaven knows I was in such a state of stress a few months ago, I had an imaginary heart attack and my hair was falling off so much, I was thinking I was definitely going bald.
“Hair damage is
something most women worry about. It impacts their confidence and makes them
feel less beautiful. Dove believes women should feel free to go play with their
hair without fear of damage, and so on behalf of the billions of women
experiencing hair damage, Dove wants them to know that they are not alone, that
‘damaged hair’ is the new normal, and that there is in fact a solution to the
problem. Dove is committed to helping women feel good about their hair, and
does so by developing products that really work,”said by Heng Hui Ling, Brand Manager for Dove Hair, Unilever
(Malaysia) Holdings Sdn. Bhd.
She added, “Looking good and having beautiful
hair boosts a woman’s confidence, therefore, Dove is launching ‘Go Play with
your Hair’ campaign.
Dove wants women cast off the negative emotions they
feel about hair damage and instead be adventurous and feel free to experiment
with different hairstyles or continue their much-loved styling routines with
the knowledge that Dove can help repair the damage.”
A survey done among 2,000 women in Malaysia revealed some interesting facts:
· 71% of women surveyed said that they often go out under the sun daily
· 66% of women often blow dry their hair
· 73% of women brush their hair when it’s wet
Hair damages are not only caused by hair colouring or perming but everyday routines such as brushing, blow drying and exposure to UV rays. As wet hair is more fragile and susceptible to breakage, combing it when it’s still wet causes damage. Even while blow drying, it removes moisture from hair and the heat is also damaging the hair fibre.
Most of us are outdoor for work purposes or leisure and the harmful UV rays from the sun may break down fine fibre particles of the hair and strip off its natural oil. Dove Intensive Repair works at a cellular level to fortify damaged hair. The range with Keratin Repair Actives works at the cellular level of the hair structure and helps reconstruct damaged protein making hair strong and resilient to damage.
All the products in the range have a beautiful fragrance, luxurious texture and are designed to delight the senses as much as to work wonders on damaged hair.
The difference could be seen when blow drying the hair. Brand X hair was hard to comb and had knots in it while with Dove, the hair was easily brushed.
Ms Cherrelle , one of Dove real woman who had straight hair and now is the proud owner of some bouncy curls
This is another of Dove real woman too, Ms Fish. She had a hair make over with bright pink ombre. I think it really suited her well and she looked lovely.
And... Ms Sarah
Abu Husin, Dove real woman, who had really "maggi mee style" hair shared, “I have natural small curls and with the
nature of my job, I have to always walk under the hot sun and blow dry my hair
for it to look presentable. The daily UV ray exposure and heat has caused
damage to my hair with split ends and dull looking hair. Due to this, I never
wanted to do anything to my hair as I’m afraid at further damage it might cause
my hair.
After being introduced with
Dove Intense Repair, I should not worry about damages but play with my hair!
This has boost my confidence as my hair has become trendy and a whole lot
healthier looking too!”

Members of the media were then urged to play with our hair and attend 3 little workshops. My first workshop was at the Accessories area.
There were so many pretty and colourful ribbons and buttons, and flowers it was pretty hard to choose, but we selected our items...
Mine is just a simple hair band made with my little girl in mind. She loved purple so purple is my theme here....
Taadaaa.... there is my hair band all ready and done.. It is not the best one there, but it is made with love.... hehehe
The owner of the Accessories workshop teaching my blogger friend Sherry how to put crystals on her hair band....
After the Accessories workshop, we got to go to to Play area where we were all given a hair wash using Dove Intense Repair therapy shampoo, conditioner and all day repair cream
The hair wash was heavenly.....which woman doesn't like some pampering some time?
And......... before I show you the result... This is me and my blogger friend Sherry before our hair wash and blow dry....
And..... this is us after our hair wash and blow dry... hehehe (with our hair band)
We also got to attend the Style your hair workshop where we learn many tips on how to curl your hair using a straighter, ways to tie your hair, and how to use a crimper to add volume to your hair instead of backcombing (especially for brittle and fine hair)
It was really a lot to take it...but we were happy campers...
