Pak John Steamboat and BBQ and Hai Blogger "Blogger Award 2014" night....

And so the long awaited day came by again after having been postponed once. It was waited with bated breath by all the bloggers involved... Attendance was compulsory. So my little girl and I arrive here as I had no one to take care of her that evening.

The event was held at Pak John Steamboat and BBQ outlet in Wangsa Maju and on the first floor. The outlet here is smaller then the one in eCurve, but the food is just as tasty. Just as we stepped on the first floor, the aroma of the soup, Prawn soup was evident in the air and  that made our out tummy rumble in protest. The sight of all the fresh ingredients, surimi, noodles, fishballs and prawns added to the temptation . As well as the sight of the premium meat slices.

It is definitely no surprise why Pak John Steamboat is known as the best Steamboat buffet in town..... and it's HALAL too for those who worry about it.

Then there was a short demonstration by the chef and General Manager Jackie on the proper way to cook and enjoy your steamboat.

The aroma and the sight is really mouthwatering and my stomach is growling at this point.

Then we could start cooking our own ingredients... Here is a picture of another dear friend and fellow blogger Ellie and her son Adrian. As you can see Ellie is busy trying to grill the smoked duck slices, which is a huge favorite of the night. At least for us!!!

Entertainment of the night came from  Voxscape, who melted our hearts with their songs especially with Belaian Jiwa with the front man Azhar Mustapa

Then all the bloggers involved were given our goodies... a huge styrofoam box with packs of fishballs, fuchoks and surimis to enable us to make our own steamboat at home as well. Here is Ellie with her box.

 

Then the best three winners were announced...

3rd placing went to food blogger Mahamahu with his entry.... He won RM500 cash prize!

There you have it. It was an evening filled with great fun, laughter, great food, friendship and camaraderie, appreciation and even some suspense especially in the midst of all the going ons suddenly the lights went off... and it was because of our table. Huhuhu... the plug for our steamboat and teppanyaki grilling unit was right at the spot when some water dripped on it causing a black out and the fuse to blow and burn.

The efficient staff quickly came and changed the unit to a portable gas stove instead.

I truly love the steamboat here at Pak John as well as the dipping sauce. It's truly heavenly. The fishball, surimis, vegetables, seafood and all are very fresh and chosen carefully to ensure quality.
