This year is the very first time I took the initiative to head to Dataran Merdeka to witness first hand the feel of Merdeka. It was an amazing experience but well, since I brought my little girl.. I did not get to enjoy it 100% because having a child around means you have to attend to their needs... And my little girl was bored... then she was hungry... and then she needed to go to the toilet and on that.... I had to surrender...

Tony Roma's Malaysia has today brought cheers and much joy to the residents of Rumah Titian Kaseh (RTK), a home that provides shelter for single and abused mothers and orphans. The American casual dining giant donated RM20,000 to Rumah Titian Kaseh and celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri with fun-filled games and tantalizing food.

The cheque handover ceremony was done at RTK's shelter in Titiwangsa, which is home to 130 residents. The event, part of Tony Roma's corporate socia responsibility (CSR) initiatives, was attended by Revenue Valley's Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dickson Low and RTK's founder Hajjah Sharifah binti Adlan and koined by over 100 children from the home.

Woman pregnant for 36 years!!!

Doctors in India  removed a skeleton of a foetus that had been inside a woman for 36 years in what is said to be the world's longest ectopic pregnancy.

The 60-year-old woman became pregnant at 24 years old but suffered a miscarriage because the foetus had been growing outside of her uterus.

The woman, from a poor rural area of central India, was "scared" of having an operation at the time to remove the remains of the foetus, and instead sought medication for the pain at a local clinic.

The pain subsided, but it returned years later, forcing the woman to seek medical help in a city hospital.

The War Museum on Ghost Hill, Penang

The Penang War Museum is situated on a historic site called the Bukit Hantu/Ghost Hill (and for a very good reason also), making it one of the places to visit in Penang that is  interesting, and which tells a real story as well.

A chef was killed after he was bit by the head of a snake that he had cut off after preparing the dish.

Chef Peng Fan had chopped the head off the Indochinese spitting cobra, a delicacy in Asia, to prepare a snake soup.
The snake was being diced up to be made into snake soup, which is a delicacy in the area and a much sought after dish in high-end restaurants. China has seen a rising demand for snake products, not only in restaurants but also for use in traditional medicine.
He was tossing the head  into the  rubbish bin about 20 minutes later when the snake's head bit him, injecting him with its lethal venom.

 We traveled to Ipoh for this wedding, it was the wedding of a close friend of the family, so my husband insisted on going. We began our trip about 9am and arrived around noon at my husband's aunt's home where we put up a night.

Man threatens to shoot at Mc Donald's Ampang Point

A Chinese man was said to have entered the premises of McDonald's at the Ampang Point shopping centre, shouted and threatened to shoot using two toy guns.

According to a witness, the man was clad in all black, with boots and shades on. He entered the restaurant at about 9.15pm . The toy guns were taped to his hands.

MH70 to Tokyo makes U-turn to KLIA for safety reasons

A Malaysian Airlines flight to Tokyo today, made a U-turn to return back to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), 50 minutes after take off, for safety reasons.

So Lanma Shandi warns Shwenadaw about this and makes him act dumb. They were arrested when her tribesmen saw them. Lanma Shandi quietly announces that Shwenadaw is her bridegroom. The village chief believes her and gets Shwenadaw ready for the ‘wedding’ ceremony. Lanma Shandi is afterall the tribe’s high priestess, even if she does not believe in God

first 20 remains of MH17 returns home

Soldiers carry a coffin with the remains of a Malaysian victim from the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 that crashed in Ukraine during a ceremony at the Bunga Raya complex at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 

The plane carrying the first 20 remains of the 43 Malaysians killed in the MH17 disaster returned to KLIA to a sombre reception on a national day of mourning.

The special Malaysia Airlines flight from Amsterdam landed at about 10am local time.

The 17 coffins and 3 urns were carefully unloaded from the plane by waiting Malaysian Royal Army in ceremonial uniforms into special white hearses in full ceremony.

First of Malaysian bodies to arrive today

A plane carrying the bodies of 20 Malaysian victims of flight MH17, which crashed in Ukraine in July, took off from Amsterdam for Kuala Lumpur on Thursday. 

There was no departure ceremony from Schiphol airport, a local news reported.

The plane will land today in KLIA Malaysia, where a national day of mourning has been declared.

The remains will be received with full honor at the KLIA's Bunga Raya Complex in Sepang in a brief ceremony before being handed over to their respective families.This will enable them to be given proper burials and for the families to say their final goodbyes and have some sort of closure.

It is also when Malaysians regardless of their ethnic background or faith will come together and observe one minute silence as a mark of respect for the MH17 victims.

Three construction workers are feared dead after 300 tonnes of concrete laid for the ongoing construction of an overhead rail passage of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line collapsed near Kota Damansara late yesterday. 

A spokesman of the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Department said the incident occurred at about 9.40pm and firemen rushed over to the scene on receiving a distress call.
